Job description

Milliner is a three-year basic training course that takes place in a specialist shop.

In summer, the milliner transforming a wide variety of straw, light fabrics, colourful ribbons and flowers into fashionable or sporty headgear. In winter they use steam to draw felts onto wooden moulds. They also make chic hats and caps from fur, leather and other warming materials. Depending on the model, they apply veils and tulle, feathers, brooches, decorative clasps and other trimmings, sew, iron, shape, decorate and know the latest fashion trends.
